A Fair Fight

As you can see, I had a great time! This was my first time competing in public. We lost our first bout, but came back to destroy in the 2nd (see above picture!). I had an excellent team and we had incredible competition. Nice work everyone and thank you Salem for making all the leagues who visited feel so welcome! Cherry City Derby Girls are AMAZING! Rose City <3's you!!

First Thursday in the Pearl

If you need something to do tonight, drop by 17th and Lovejoy in the Pearl. There is a huge activespace building there and we take over the parking lot every first thurs. Tender Loving Empire always has sales and a band and lots of snacks. It's family friendly and lots of fun. Tonight, there will be lots of vendors with all their hand-made goodies. I just whipped up a bunch more headbands and tote bags this morning. Come by, have a glass of wine and buy something pretty!

Last Thursday Success!

I rarely like to do shows like Last Thursday. Yes, I know it's free, but it's so stressful for me to find the right spot and navigate the crowds. Yesterday started out a bit dicey, but by the end of the night, I was very happy that I had gone.

We were set up at the corner of 23 and Alberta, this is a very busy spot and had lots of people drop by. I got to hang out with Slaybia Majora, my former fresh meat coach, Bitter Sweet, retired Guns n Rollers, Bawdy Czec from Lava City Roller Dolls, Caramia Cheri, a former wrecker, and Izabell Ringer, my derby idol!

it didnt really seem like I was that busy, but I walked away with 175$ last night. Not bad for 5 hours of my life. I think the key is probably to be in a group with friends and to try to have fun. Next week it's off to First Thursday in the Pearl and First Friday in Vancouver if I can get in. Mama needs to pay the bills.

Oh, I had a vegan po'boy at Palm State Gumbo. And a cup of house made vegan coconut mango ice cream and a sweet tea. All very highly recommended! The sandwich was huge and I got all of it for 8$. Not bad at all.
